“A Legend’s Unexpected Final Race”

This Giclee Print captures Carlos Pace’s final Formula 1 race at the 1977 South African Grand Prix on 5 March 1977 at Kyalami.
He started from 2nd on the grid in his Brabham-Alfa Romeo and finished 13th (two laps down). This was the third and last race of his 1977 season (after 2nd in Argentina and a retirement in Brazil). He died in a light aircraft crash in Brazil on 18 March 1977, less than two weeks later.
His status as a legend are confirmed by the circuit at Interlagos being renamed for him, and in 2024 his remains were moved to rest forever at the circuit now bearing his name.
